Station Wildfire

I was dispatched to the Station Fire just outside of LA. This fire was definitely one of the most impressive and explosive fires I've been on. At its peak, over 5,000 personnel were on site fighting the fire. After my two weeks were up, over 160,000 acres were burned making it the largest fire in LA County and the Angeles NF. In fact, over 50k acres were scorched in a single afternoon. Sadly though, two fire fighters lost their lives on that horrible afternoon. Aside from the fire itself, working on a fire near LA was interesting to say the least. We had two visits from the govenator and I gave about a dozen media interviews. I was glad to head home after two weeks and finally get some rest.
