Colin's first solid foods

Over the last few weeks Colin has become more and more interested in watching us eat dinner.  In fact, he has tried to grab Kate's plate and/or food several times.  We tried pears one night a few weeks ago because he was constipated (TMI?) but we decided his parents were not ready to try solids.  Now, that Colin is six months old and has become very interested in our food, we decided it's time to try solid foods for real.  A few weeks ago we attended a baby food making class to help us prepare for the big day.  Kate also got lots of great information from the book, "Super Baby Food." (Thanks, Jen.)  The real question is, with our new found knowledge would Colin even like the food? Kate made a huge batch of sweet potatoes for our second attempt. Colin's facial expression are pretty funny on the videos below. He didn't seem to necessarily enjoy the food, but he did swallow it so that's a win in our book.  Overall Colin's first food experience was a success, next up avocados?
What is that!?
Pears first

Now sweet potatoes
