Another day at the office - Egan Wildfire

I was dispatched to my first wildfire of the 2012 season in far Eastern Nevada.  The wildfire was in the middle of nowhere and took 10.5 hours to get there. A very long and boring 10.5 hours across Central Nevada. Thank goodness for satellite radio and podcasts.  By the time I finally arrived the fire was pretty much done.  The main goal was keep the fire contained with in a predefined boundary.  Here are a few pictures.
Enjoy, Matt

The cloud on the horizon is actually a smoke plume from another fire in NV.

The never ending road in NV.

4.5 mile hike to get here.  Our truck was parked in the brown grass at the bottom .

Hiking up the canyon.

Moon setting as the sun rises over camp.

Another day at the office.
