Triathlon Weekend

In addition to Colin's first Birthday Party, it was an action packed triathlon weekend.  Matt competed in the Pacific Grove Triathlon as a member of a relay team and then individually the following day.  Even though Matt isn't much of a runner, he did the running leg of the Olympic distance triathlon with two of his co-workers who are also competitive athletes in their own right. The three of them formed and competed as the first ever Team NOAA triathlon team.  They also had quiet a cheering section including: Matt's two sisters, Kim and Jen, Kate, Colin, Ruth, Matt's co-workers and even his Boss.  They had a blast doing the team triathlon and even took 1st place in their division.  Here are a few pictures...

As mentioned above Matt also completed his own triathlon the next day.  Last year he completed this triathlon as a new Dad with his son still in the hospital. This year was different as both Kate and Colin could cheer him on.  He had a great race and improved last year's time by almost 3 minutes and even finished in the top 10 for his age group.
