Wedding and a Battlefield...

And no, not at the same time...

A few weeks ago we traveled to Virginia for the wedding of Kate's college roommate Heidi.  We were a little worried about the flight since this would be the longest flight Colin has taken; LAX to Dulles.  As with most flights, Colin can have his moments mainly due to painful ears, but we survived.  Flying on a 777 with lots of room definitely helped. We made to VA safe and sound, next stop Lake Anna.

We had a great time visiting with Kate's (and now Matt's) Penn State friends.  The wedding was picture perfect as the bride and groom rented an amazing house with lakefront views on Lake Anna. The ceremony brought back memories of our wedding since it was outside and a beautiful setting.  We are extremely happy for the newly weds and were glad we could share in their special day.

In addition to the wedding we did some sight seeing around the area.  This particular part of the country is rich with Civil War history.  Many important battles occurred here including the death of Stonewall Jackson. Before leaving VA we even managed a very quick side trip to the National Mall in DC. It was great to take in some American history and can't wait to bring Colin back when he is a little older.
