18 Months old

Last week, Colin had his 18 month check up at the doctor's office and we can't believe he is now a year and a half old.  Everyone says how time flies, but the past 18 months seemed to have happened at the snap of a finger.  Colin continues to amaze us each and every day. We get so much joy watching him become a little person with a great personality.

Pictures and Videos at the bottom

Colin's Stats:
  • Weight - 23 lbs, 4 oz. (20%)
  • Length - 32 inches (50%)

We were a bit concerned that Colin's vocabulary was somewhat limited and slow to develop, but over the past few weeks it has exploded.  Colin is talking up a storm now and loves to repeat certain words we say to him. We guess we'll have to watch what we say now ;)

New Words:
  • Tofu (Matt joked with his sister that Colin also knows free range, organic and cage free)
  • Ball
  • Bubble
  • Doppler/Doggie  - Definitely trying to say something about the dog but not sure what the word is exactly
  • Cheese
  • Hello - he hears the phone ring and says hello or sees a cell phone and says hello
Current sign language:
  • birds
  • water
  • milk
  • more
  • crackers
  • eat
  • head
  • all done
  • please (but he may mistake this for bread)
  • thank you (working on it)
Latest happenings with Colin...
He loves running everywhere.  We guess his philosophy is, "why should I walk, when I can run."  Unfortunately, the constant running causes more falls. We also joke, that if we could make money or generate power by him pushing items around the house we'd be rich or have unlimited power.  He loves pushing chairs, buckets, strollers, cars and just about anything he can move. He still loves Doppler and Doppler is starting to like Colin, especially now that Colin is feeding him food.
