Holiday Vacation Fun

For the first time in roughly 10 years we didn't head back East for our holiday break. The weather in California was great and we made the most of it or a seven day stretch. First stop, Pinnacles National Park, which is just down the road.  Our second stop was Roaring Camp Railroad in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Roaring Camp is packed during the summer months, but in December is was very nice. Roaring Camp has two trains routes, to the beach or up the mountain. We chose up the mountain, which includes some of the steepest rail road track in North America at 9% grade.  Our last stop was Big Basin State Park, home to lots of redwoods. We camped here once before when Jen came to visit.
